Voices of Coordinators

milan

Carina, Marketing and Communications Coordinator:

I developed my professional skills being responsible for the entire Marketing area and participating in managerial decisions of the NGO.

As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, I was responsible for the internal and external communications of Intiwawa through the production of newsletters, the management of different social media platforms and the website. I loved to work autonomously, take decisions in my area and manage my own time, as well as the work of my interns. I also formed part of the executive committee of Intiwawa and, thereby, learned a lot about the functioning of an NGO taking part in important decisions. The work in Intiwawa is quite flexible, so I was able to earn some money working for a European Online Marketing Company. As I am also interested in Project Management, I helped improve the Project Management procedures of the organization by using the project management tools I learned in University. Furthermore, I conducted market research for a business viability analysis, which was super interesting too. The different experiences I made are numerous and super valuable for my future career.

I felt really appreciated in my work and my efforts by the whole team. It was an incredible feeling to do what I love and receive so much respect for my work while contributing to such a great cause. This was much more worth to me than any salary I could have gotten in another company. I also really fell in love with the children and enjoyed spending some time with them in the projects.

Felix, Volunteer Recruitment Team Germany:

Volunteering at Intiwawa is a great opportunity to help other people and work in an incredible team!

A lot of the kids of San Isidro still have to help their parents in the construction of bricks, which is very hard work. Because of the volunteers that are coming each day to our projects in San Isidro and Coporaque, they have the opportunity to reach a better education, study later on and get a better job in the future.
My responsibility for the recruitment of international volunteers is to make sure new volunteers keep coming to Peru to support the organization in their great efforts.

I am working as a volunteer for Intiwawa since 2015 in Germany and in Peru. After volunteering with Intiwawa in Peru in 2015 for 6 months, I decided to continue supporting the Administrative team of Intiwawa in Germany from my home. In 2018 I visited the Peruvian team again for three months. I love to see our kids growing and developing their personalities. As a volunteer of our Intiwawa family, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team and to choose the projects you would like to support (in Germany this can be for example Finance, Fundraising, Accounting, Project Management, Marketing). You can also create a new project or initiative as well! I can promise you that you will never forget your time with Intiwawa!
